I still get excited when there is a NASA Mission in space. Space Shuttle Discovery has now docked with the International Space Station. I'm usually tuning in via Ham Radio, or the Internet, or the NASA TV Channel on DISH Network. Check out the following links for more info:

NASA Discover Mission STS-120 Overview
STS-120 is the 23rd shuttle mission to the International Space Station, and will launch an Italian-built U.S. multi-port module for the station.
Retired Air Force Col. Pamela A. Melroy will command the STS-120 mission to take the Node 2 connecting module to the station. Melroy, a veteran shuttle pilot, is the second woman to command a shuttle. Marine Corps Col. George D. Zamka will serve as pilot. The flight's mission specialists will be Scott E. Parazynski, Army Col. Douglas H. Wheelock, Stephanie D. Wilson and Paolo A. Nespoli, a European Space Agency astronaut from Italy. Zamka, Wheelock and Nespoli will be making their first spaceflight.
Expedition 15/16 Flight Engineer Clayton Anderson will return to Earth from the space station aboard shuttle mission STS-120. That flight will carry his replacement, Daniel Tani, to the station. Tani will return on shuttle mission STS-122.
October's STS-120 mission will bring the Harmony module, christened after a school contest, that will provide attachment points for European and Japanese laboratory modules.

Visiting LeftHand Networks
I'm at LeftHand Networks in Boulder for training to be certified as a partner.
Check out the the leader in iSCSI SAN technology! Save money over more traditional fiber channel SAN technology. iSCSI connections can go over long T1 lines to create a Disaster Recovery solution or a simple remote off-line storage solution.
LeftHand's open approach gives customers the freedom to build enterprise-class storage solutions on their choice of hardware. SAN/iQ storage clustering software turns enterprise-class servers like the HP ProLiant or IBM System xSeries into scalable network storage ideal for server consolidation and virtualization projects, Microsoft application environments, and disaster recovery solutions.

In Brighton until August
I'll be working here in Brighton, CO until August. I'm filling in as Network Administrator and Project Manager. We're transitioning over to an Outsourced IT firm so we'll see if they keep my Novell IT Infrastructure in place.

Didn't make it to Brainshare... :-(
Where's Bucky? Not at Brainshare this year! ...sigh..
I had a ticket (provided for me) but didn't get to go since the company I'm working at right now just lost their Network Administrator. The other IT guy here actually takes his vacation time and pays his own way to Brainshare every year. I think he deserved to go, so I stayed behind and minded the IT farm.
I did watch the keynotes on webcast.
I'm still working in Brighton and now I'm filling in temporarily as a Network Administrator as well as project manager.

Still working in Brighton
The bank where I am consulting has lost their Network Administrator and is now in a bind so I've been filling in as pseudo Network Admin as well as continuing my role as consultant.
Double the pleasure, double the fun! (Sarcasticly speaking)
I've also done a few other quick gigs elsewhere.
Bummer - because of this gig I won't be able to attend Brainshare!!! :-(
