LCROSS - Didn't see much

"I think we're all a little bit stunned that we didn't see more." -Tom Costello after the moon shot

The LCROSS Centaur and Spacecraft impacted the moon at approximately 4:30 a.m. PDT. Scientists are reviewing the initial data and will report what they know at a Post Impact News Conference at 7:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 a.m. EDT on NASA TV.

If you're bummed you didn't get up early to watch NASA's Lunar Rocket slam into the Moon, well... you didn't miss much. I got up at 4:15 am and started watching NASA Live TV and News Feeds. I know there were people gathered around the world to watch this event. I just watched it out of my home office.

I am a bit disappointed because I was expecting more. I've been following this mission since July. I just hope that NASA has some excellent data for review.

NASA Crashing into the Moon with LCROSS


Nice report from our friend Tom Costello on LCROSS and NASA sending the Rocket into the moon and then sending a second vehicle to scan the debris and moon dirt for signs of water.
